Liverpool offered Adrian a contract extension this summer but the Spaniard has decided to leave the Reds and is expected to return to his home country after five years at Anfield.
The club were hoping to keep the Spaniard and sign him to a long-term contract after parting ways with key members of their goalkeeping department following the loss of manager Jurgen Klopp.
But Adrian, 37, was reluctant to sign a new contract, and when his contract expired on July 1, Adrian officially said goodbye.
He is expected to join former club Real Betis on a free transfer, with previous reports suggesting his contract will include “a guarantee that he will continue to work for the club when he hangs up his boots”.
Adrian came through the club’s academy and was a homegrown player for the Spain national team, playing for Betis for 15 years before joining West Ham in 2013.

Adrian moved to Anfield in 2019 and has made 26 appearances for Liverpool, most notably his contribution to the 2019 Super Cup triumph.
He last appeared for the first team in the 2022 Community Shield win over Manchester City, a rare appearance for the club having long been the third-choice goalkeeper behind Allison and Caoimin Kelleher.
The Spaniard has been a key figure in the team’s dressing room and with managers John Achterberg and Jack Robinson already gone, it was expected he would stay on to avoid further chaos.
The 37-year-old leaves the club in the transfer market to fill a void ahead of the arrival of new goalkeeping coach Fabian Oté.
Give me the best news, Adrian!
