New updates for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone are scheduled for December 3rd, including the recently announced Squid Game crossover event. In addition to the new operator bundle, the event also includes other Squid Games-themed rewards, though some of them appear to be locked behind an additional paywall.
As CharlieIntel previously reported, Black Ops 6’s in-game message board has teased more details about the upcoming Squid Game event. This includes special limited-time modes themed after popular Netflix shows and a “Premium Track” event pass that requires additional purchase. This premium pass is said to include the Frontman Operator skin and other cosmetic items.
In the past, Call of Duty has included other major IP collaborations, with event rewards themed for Fallout, The Walking Dead, Dune, Warhammer, and more. Aside from store bundles, all event rewards can be earned for free by completing challenges or simply earning XP. The upcoming Squid Games event is likely to be the first of its kind where you can secure some rewards behind the additional costs.
Activision hasn’t revealed full details about the Squid Games event, so we don’t know how much it will cost, and the details may change between now and the release date. Currently, Black Ops 6 is a $70 game with either a $10 standard Battle Pass or $30 premium BlackCell Pass option for each season. It’s also available through several Game Pass plans on Xbox and PC.
