Clash of Clans has added another surprise with the Advent Holiday Calendar event. Players have already earned a number of freebies in the form of boxes through the Controlled Toy Heroes event, but they can also claim another free gift by simply scanning a QR code. Use the QR scanner app on your phone to claim your prize. When you scan the QR code, your Clash of Clans game will automatically open.
At the end of the loading screen, you will see a message like this:Would you like to receive your reward now??” choose “assert,’ and then say:The voucher has been used successfully.”
Anyone can open the chest for free. Although the rarity of the chest does not guarantee legendary rewards, several of my clan members have received legendary rewards. However, since I only got the rare ones, I guess the standard gacha rates will apply to these free Christmas boxes.
If you are having trouble redeeming your rewards via QR code, try exiting the Clash of Clans application first before scanning the QR code. This worked for me when I initially had trouble claiming compensation. If you’re still having trouble, try updating your phone and restarting it.

There’s no telling how long QR codes will work for free Christmas gifts. However, the code definitely worked after Christmas, meaning it could last until the event ends.
