Milan are preparing for their Italian Super Cup semi-final against Juventus in Saudi Arabia and there are significant changes taking place in the squad. Former Porto coach Sergio Conceicao will coach his first match against the Juventus team for which his son Chico Conceicao plays. But while there are plenty of new players, Milan will have their talisman back in the form of American Christian Pulisic.
Persic, who has been out since early December due to calf and ankle problems, has been sidelined as Milan have recorded two wins and two draws during their transition from manager Paulo Fonseca. Puizic, who has eight goals and six assists in all competitions, has missed his mark this season as Milan’s attack has gone cold.
Facing a formidable Juventus defence, Milan need everything they can get, which is why Pulisic’s return could not come at a better time. With a place in the final against Inter Milan at stake, a Milan derby looks more likely.
Pulisic will also get the chance to face international team-mate Weston McKennie in Thiago Motta’s XI, while fellow Americans Tim Weah and Yunus Musa will have to start the clash from the bench. As four Americans are likely to appear, this is a game that national team coach Mauricio Pochettino should pay attention to.
