Leicester manager Michael Cjika has been suspended after being found guilty of disrespecting an independent doctor on match day.
The former Australia and Argentina coach will be banned for the Tigers’ Premiership match against Newcastle on Saturday, with one week of his two-week ban lasting until the end of the season.
Leicester handed Cheika a ban after his first game, a 17-14 win over Exeter Chiefs on September 21.

The independent disciplinary panel ruled that Cheika had “disrespected an independent match day doctor by challenging his decision that the player was subject to an IPR (immediate permanent ban)”.
Leicester chairman Peter Tom said in a statement: “Leicester Tigers welcomes the panel’s finding that manager Michael Chica did not threaten or insult the matchday doctor following the recent match against Exeter Chiefs.”
“However, the club would like to express its displeasure over the fact that Michael Chika was rude.”
Leicester said they would seek clarification from the Rugby Football Union on the ruling, adding that they had the right to appeal the decision.
