As you may know, Chelsea are under investigation by the league for alleged historical breaches of rules under owner Roman Abramovich.
With numerous breaches and allegations being investigated in relation to previous transfer dealings under the previous owner, it seems impossible for Chelsea to avoid serious punishment here.
It took a long time because everything was incredibly complicated and there were so many issues and cases that Chelsea was investigating.
But the conclusion is now very close….
Premier League chief executive Richard Masters said yesterday of the Chelsea investigation:
“Obviously what we’re talking about is historical. It’s complicated for a club to talk about what happened under the previous owners. What I can say is that the investigation and discussions are reaching a conclusion, but until that happens I can’t say what happens next.”
Personally, I think we should prepare for the worst. I don’t know what’s going to happen, but if you expect the worst here, everything else is a bonus.
As we reported last week, Chelsea are doing exactly that and are bracing for the worst. They believe they could be fined and banned from transferring for more than one or two transfer windows. SPTC According to sources, this is one of the reasons they are stockpiling talent and signing so many players. But it is not the only reason. We reported on this a few weeks ago.
I saw it Rob Fratley Chelsea have suggested they could be given a multi-window transfer ban for the breach, which he suggests could be two years (four windows). He also said he thought it could be done without a fine.
Remember, this is just Rob’s opinion. No one knows yet what the punishment will be.
But as I said, Chelsea are just preparing for the worst and preparing for anything. But they also believe that reporting the issue themselves helped and they should see the results in the punishment.
