🏆 Chelsea wins 2-0 over Tottenham
A great night at Stamford Bridge! Chelsea finished the game with a 2-0 win over Tottenham. Now, here’s the scoop on how it all went down.
Trevoh Chalobah opened the game in the 24th minute with a slick header that flew over Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario. Despite some interference from VAR, who checked for offside and a foul, Chalobah’s goal was keeper. It was a big moment for him, who celebrated by sporting a T-shirt with ‘Son of Jehovah’ emblazoned on his chest.
The second half came quickly and 18 minutes after the whistle, Nicholas Jackson sealed the deal with another goal. This came after Palmer’s free-kick bounced off the crossbar. Talk about being in the right place at the right time! Jackson jumped on the rebound and headed home.
Meanwhile, Tottenham boss Postekoglou appears to have ruined his previous disregard for the importance of set-pieces. His team couldn’t handle Chelsea’s free-kicks and it cost them dearly. They have now lost three in a row and their Champions League dreams are hanging by a thread.
Needless to say, Tottenham’s performance was poor. Son Heung-min, who was usually a starter, was virtually invisible, and James Maddison was not in the lineup. Spurs will need to tighten their belts if they want to avoid another season-ending collapse.
Chelsea, on the other hand, were not flashy but effective. Despite missing several key players through injury, they played some solid football. The win moves them up to 8th place and they are now looking to qualify for Europe.
Well, here it is. Chelsea took full advantage of Tottenham’s set piece mistake and pulled away, winning all three points. Tottenham have some serious thinking to do!
