Wouldn’t it be a good idea to spend some time practicing before taking the CCIE Lab exam to increase your chances of passing or improving your score? This is the purpose of CCIE Practice Labs. You can rent time in a pod in a special online environment that mimics the actual CCIE environment you will use during the CCIE Lab exam.
that CCIE Service Provider Lab It provides a real-world exam-like platform to perfect your skills in a controlled environment. You will gain hands-on experience with networking devices and protocols. These scenarios test specific skills and different areas of knowledge.
Integrating CCIE Practice Labs into your CCIE Service Provider Learning Plan can reward you in several ways. Here are a few:
- Hands-on experience: Labs allow you to interact with networking equipment and software, helping you hone the skills you need for the real exam.
- Improved troubleshooting: You will gain the ability to quickly resolve complex network problems.
- Improved retention: Connected to lab scenarios help you learn complex concepts quickly and better retain them during exams.
- Improved time management: You will learn how to manage your time and work more efficiently during the exam when tasks must be completed within a specific time period.
- Immersive Learning: Fully immersing yourself in a hands-on experience will make it easier to apply your theoretical knowledge to exam lab scenarios.
CCIE Service Provider Lab Scenario
All CCIE Service Provider Practice Labs share the following topology, which always includes all devices that appear in this diagram.
However, the initial configuration of separate devices may vary depending on the laboratory. Each scenario focuses on a subgroup of devices, but certain scenarios allow access to all devices.
The topology includes two service providers, Emerald and Garnet, connected via an eBGP link. Emerald is an SDN-based service provider with integrated SDN transport solutions. Garnet is a legacy-based service provider that starts with LDP and RSVP-TE but needs to migrate to SRv6. Emerald acquired Garnet and runs its L3VPN service on both service providers’ infrastructure.
All labs focus mainly on IOS-XR devices and some IOS-XE devices. Garnet has a Customer Edge (CE) and a Route Reflector (RR) that act as IOS-XE devices. The Automation and Assurance Lab will also work on NSO. It comes pre-installed with the necessary Network Element Drivers (NED) for NSO and can connect to any device over the management network. In all labs you will work using the virtual ASR9000 and CSR1000 platforms.
Service Provider Core Routing Lab
purpose: Build an optimized network architecture with layer reduction, unified networks, and intelligent, data-driven optimized routing, peering, and function placement. Work includes implementing IS-IS with IGP, Segment Routing, SRv6, BGP-LU, SR-TE using SR-PCE, SR-ODN, and Flex-Algorithm on Emerald and Garnet.
Service Provider Service Lab
purpose: By deploying network service functions (information and control) to the end-user service layer, you can tailor services and/or applications to the most appropriate end-to-end traffic handling. Work includes implementation of EVPN-VPWS, L3VPN, QoS, and Internet services across Emerald and Garnet.
Service Provider Security Lab
purpose: Focus on control plane, management plane, and infrastructure security for Emerald and Garnet service provider networks. Work includes implementing network baselines for Emerald and Garnet, as well as IS-IS and BGP authentication, BGP Flowspec, route and prefix filtering, RTBH, and BGP RPKI.
Service Provider MVPN Labs
purpose: Focus on multicast VPNs on Emerald and Garnet service provider networks. Work will include implementing relevant MVPN profiles across Emerald and Garnet and implementing the following profiles:
- Task 1 – Profile 0 (Basic GRE MDT with PIM AD and Signal Processing)
- Task 2 – Profile 0 (Basic GRE MDT with legacy BGP AD and PIM signaling)
- Task 3 – Profile 3 (Basic GRE MDT with BGP MVPN AD and PIM signaling)
- Task 4 – Profile 11 (Basic GRE MDT with BGP MVPN AD and Signaling)
- Task 5 – Profile 12 (Basic MDT mLDP P2MP with BGP MVPN AD and signaling)
- Task 6 – Profile 14 (Partitioned MDT mLDP P2MP with BGP MVPN AD and signaling)
Service Provider Automation and Assurance Lab
purpose: Focus on network assurance and automation for the Emerald and Garnet service provider networks. Work includes implementing automated provisioning solutions using NSO on Emerald and Garnet, implementing features such as L3VPN service automation, BFD, IGP convergence, ACL, and SRv6 policies.
To get the most out of CCIE Practice Labs, consider these tips:
- Integrate hands-on labs early Create a study plan to hone your skills.
- Practice on a consistent schedule To reinforce learning and build confidence.
- Build on your weaknesses Strengthen knowledge areas that require improvement.
- Diversify your practice Use a mix of different lab scenarios.
- collaborate with others Join a study group or online community to be in the same boat.
Preparation tips for best results:
- Get used to it Exam Topic BlueprintStay up to date on changes.
- Get more practice; make Real laboratory scenario In a home lab environment.
- purchase Quality learning materialslike a formula cisco press book.
- Manage your time wisely During study preparation to simulate the exam environment:
- Familiarize yourself with the exam format and modules.
- Review the topics covered in the training and revise key concepts.
- prepare Mentor and Peer Review Evaluate configurations and solutions.
- Set aside time to practice your assignments Simulates test day stress. During the exam, avoid spending too much time on a single task (which will eat up exam time) and prioritize items to meet time constraints.
- Learn more about the underlying technologies of networking protocols.
- Be careful Backward navigation is disabled. Between DES and DOO modules during the test. This means that you cannot navigate backwards once the DES module exits. Additionally, you cannot navigate backwards within a DES module. But it is possible within the DOO module.
- you will have 3 hours to complete the DES moduleHowever, if you finish early, you will not be able to add time to the DOO module. you will have 5 hours for DOO module.
- Score values in the DES module are hidden but visible in the DOO module.
- DES has some partially graded complex questions, while DOO does not. If you miss any of the question requirements in a DOO module, you will receive a score of 0 for that question.
- get enough sleep the night before and On the day of the exam, arrive on time, Stay calm and confidentFollow the lab supervisor’s morning briefing instructions. Please read the questions carefully, eat Lunch and accommodation Hydrate!
CCIE practice labs help you do your best on test day. Take advantage of them. You won’t regret it, and it will greatly increase your chances of earning your CCIE SP certification.
Good luck!
