The Vancouver Canucks signed goaltender Artur Siloves to a two-year contract on Tuesday.
The 23-year-old Silov went 3-0-1 with a 2.47 ERA and .881 save percentage for the Canucks in 2023-24.
He also appeared in 34 games for AHL affiliate Abbotsford, posting a record of 16-11-6 with a 2.74 GAA and .907 save percentage.
“Arturs helped us a lot when he was called up last year as he continues to grow and develop as a goalkeeper,” said general manager Patrick Allvin. “We expect him to come into training camp and compete for a full-time position with a big club. Our group will continue to work with him to sharpen his skills and give him all the tools he needs to take another step in his young career.”
Terms of the deal for the Latvian were not disclosed, but multiple reports suggest the deal could be worth an average of $850,000 per year.
Vancouver drafted Shilov in the sixth round in 2019, and he made his NHL debut in the 2022-23 season, posting a 3-2-0 record with a 2.75 ERA and a .908 save percentage.
