gist
Sacramento: Fox’s 14-point performance in the fourth quarter sent the Kings into overtime, but his 3-pointer came at a cost. He went 0-of-10 from beyond the arc, including an attempt to tie the game with 2.1 seconds left in overtime, and was a big reason why Sacramento’s comeback attempt failed.
TORONTO: Closing out opponents continues to be an issue for the Raptors, who are still without All-Star forward Scotty Barnes and starting point guard Emmanuel Quickley. Toronto led by as many as 13 points, but the Kings forced overtime and took a 34-24 lead in the fourth quarter.
important moment
Dick knocked the ball away from Fox with 57.1 seconds left in overtime and deflected a pass to the ensuing Barrett. The Canadian swingman put the ball in for a three-point lead and then attempted a free throw after committing a foul on the play. DeRozan answered with a 3-pointer on the ensuing possession, but Dick answered with Vince Carter’s no. 15 Judge had a floating 7-foot jumper to preserve Toronto’s three-point lead on a night when he retired.
