The Telegraph recently highlighted that no third-place team has ever won the Premier League. Moreover, no team that finished third has reached the Premiership final since 2010.

Bath v Sale semi-final predictions
Take a bath by 5 o’clock. Sale Sharks have had a good season but a strengthened Bath side led by Finn Russell will do enough to turn the season in their favour. Russell has been an inspired addition to the squad this season, while other players such as Ben Spencer and Ollie Lawrence have also stepped up.
Sales won’t roll over by any margin, but Bath will need to find just one more point to tip the scales.
