Rookie guard Caitlin Clark added another honor to her outstanding first season, earning All-WNBA honors Wednesday.
The Indiana Fever guard becomes the first rookie to make the team since Candace Parker in 2008. She is the fifth newcomer to receive this honor, joining Sue Bird, Tamika Catchings and Diana Taurasi.
Las Vegas Aces forwards A’ja Wilson and Minnesota’s Napheesa Collier were unanimous first-team selections. New York’s Breanna Stewart and Connecticut’s Alyssa Thomas round out the positionless five-person team.
Wilson, the league’s unanimous MVP selection, earned a first-team spot for three consecutive seasons and was selected to the team for the fourth time overall. A three-time selection to the All-WNBA team, Collier was selected to the top team for the second straight year.
Clark received 52 first-division votes and was included in 66 of 67 votes submitted by the national media panel. She averaged a league-high 8.4 assists per game in addition to 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game. She leads the league with 122 3-pointers made and helped the Fever reach the playoffs for the first time since 2016.
New York had three of its 10 players from both teams, with Sabrina Ionescu and Jonquel Jones earning second-team honors. They join Phoenix’s Kahleah Copper, Seattle’s Nneka Ogwumike and Dallas’ Arike Ogunbowale.
