The Buffalo Bills, who went 11-6 in 2023, have made significant changes to their 2024 roster. There are some new faces on the team, but they still have veteran players. On offense, the team still has franchise players in QB Josh Allen and LT Dion Dawkins. On defense, the Bills were happy to have veteran LB Matt Milano return in 2024.
In 2023, Milano played only five games for Buffalo after breaking his leg and missing the entire season. Milano worked all offseason to get back in shape for 2024. Unfortunately, Milano tore his biceps in practice Tuesday, according to head coach Sean McDermott. The 30-year-old will have surgery and will be out indefinitely.
This is the second season that Matt Milano has suffered a serious injury.
Buffalo’s 2023 third-round pick, LB Dorian Williams, will likely need to bring in more players to replace the injured Matt Milano. https://t.co/UsaLe2x2P9

With their fifth-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Bills selected LB Matt Milano out of Boston College. Milano has been a solid player for Buffalo over the past seven seasons. His best individual performance came in 2022, when he had 99 combined tackles, 72 solo tackles, 11 passes defended, and three interceptions. That was good enough for Milano to be named First Team All-Pro in 2022. After that dominant season, the Bills expected Milano to be even better in 2023. He started the season strong with 30 combined tackles and two interceptions in Buffalo’s first five games.
However, Milano broke his leg in Week 5 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He missed the rest of the season. Another unfortunate injury came Tuesday at practice, this time to LB Matt Milano. Milano is out indefinitely, and the team hopes he can return in December. That means the Bills will have to look elsewhere for a starting LB. Dorian Williams, a 2023 third-round pick, is a strong candidate to start for the Bills in 2024. Williams appeared in all 17 games as a rookie, making two starts. He was primarily a special teams player as a rookie, but the Bills expect him to take a step forward in Year 2. Willaims will play alongside Terrel Bernard, who started all 17 games for Buffalo last season.
