The Wallabies bounced back from a nine-year winless streak at the home of rugby by beating England 42-37 in the first game of the Autumn Nations Series.

After six misses in their last clash with the All Blacks, the Wallabies’ result at Twickenham saw every player deservedly get a passing grade for their performances, with 22 of the 23 teams averaging six points or more. Additionally, six players earned an average score of 8 or higher, with four earning a 9, which is the most common rating. This is an excellent reflection of historical performance.
For the first time this year, Len Ikitau came in first place by a narrow margin, scoring an average of 8.87. This is the highest average for a single Wallaby player this season, with the most common rating being 9.
Just behind him were fellow Brumby, the ever-reliable Rob Valetini (8.75), Angus Bell (8.74), Tom Wright (8.39) and debutant and official Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii (8.35). Top 5. Fraser McReight also earned honorable mention, placing sixth with an average of 8.14. This is his highest average to date in a stellar year as a loose forward for the Reds.
Unsurprisingly, at the bottom of the list were players who were either sidelined or brought off the bench due to injury. Taniela Tupou averaged 5.29 and had the most common rating of 5, with Langi Gleeson (6.02) and James Slipper (6.12) rounding out the bottom three.
Jake Gordon and Dylan Pietsch have also had their performances affected by injuries, resulting in far lower scores than the rest of the starting squad. Now Pietsch is set to miss the rest of the tour due to a calf injury, with Josh Flook replacing him. It has also been revealed that Tupou appears to be suffering from a serious injury but will still be fit for the match against Wales.
