Brittany Mahomes is back at the haters after receiving backlash on Friday for reportedly liking one of former President Donald Trump’s MAGA schedule posts.
The former football player, who is married to Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, liked a post in which Trump outlined his “2024 Republican platform,” which, according to multiple media outlets, outlines plans to “stop the immigrant invasion,” “undertake the largest deportation operation in American history,” and “eliminate men from women’s sports.”
Brittany Mahomes appeared to have disliked the post as of early Sunday morning and does not follow the GOP candidate on Instagram.
Mahomes updated his Instagram story, sharing a message that seemed to slam his critics.
“To be a hateful person as an adult, you have to have deeply rooted issues from childhood that you refuse to heal. Your brain is fully developed and there is no reason to hate something that someone else is good at.” This appears to have originated from a previous post about X, and is a message that was recently shared by Khloé Kardashian.
“Honestly,” Mahomes, co-owner of the Kansas City Current of the National Women’s Soccer League, wrote in the message.
Other social media users speculated that Mahomes’ message was not a reference to Trump’s post, but instead a response to criticism that her name was mentioned alongside her husband’s pledge to donate $5 million to a project at Texas Tech University.
Mahomes has also criticized Trump in 2017, when the former president called on NFL owners to “fire or suspend” players who kneeled during the national anthem, a move that players took to protest racial injustice and police brutality.
She wrote to X at the time, “Trump, you’ve pissed off so many people🙊.”
Critics took to social media to criticize Mahomes for liking Trump’s posts.
