There is little chance of Riccardo Calafiori moving to Juventus during the summer transfer window.
Bologna’s technical director Giovanni Sartori has openly admitted that he does not expect the centre-back to move to a Serie A rival, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano on X (formerly Twitter).
🚨🇮🇹 Bologna have revealed that they expect Premier League clubs to bid for Riccardo Calafiori.
“I don’t think he will join Juventus,” Sartori confirmed.
“Perhaps, if we decide to sell him, he could go abroad…”

It’s an interesting comment given his association with the Premier League and clubs like Liverpool and Chelsea.

On Merseyside, they are understood to be serious about strengthening their defence following the departure of Joel Matip on a free transfer.

Comments encouraging Liverpool
With Liverpool currently looking unlikely to sign Lenny Lloro this summer and Real Madrid showing a keen interest in him, giving Calafiori more chances is exactly the opportunity we should be looking to capitalise on.
Following Italy’s defeat to Switzerland and their exit from the European Championship, further progress is expected in this regard.
Now it all comes down to how you rate the players who have impressed for club and country in the 2023/24 season.
From Bologna’s perspective – following Thiago Motta’s move to the Old Lady – they are likely to be more open to selling abroad to a team that is not a direct competitor.
