TORONTO – The Toronto Blue Jays traded reliever Yimi Garcia to the Seattle Mariners on Friday for two prospects.
The 33-year-old has a 3-0 record in 29 appearances for Toronto this season, with a 2.70 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 42 strikeouts.

Garcia signed with the Jays as a free agent after the 2021 season and has appeared in 163 career games over three seasons.
He appeared in over 400 major league games for the Dodgers, Marlins, and Astros.

The player Toronto acquired in the deal is 22-year-old outfielder Jonathan Clase, who appeared in 19 games for Seattle this year and was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo.
The Jays also acquired catcher Jacob Sharp from the Mariners. The 22-year-old made 44 appearances in Single-A Modesto in 2024.
