Washington — The White House confirmed Wednesday that President Biden has tested positive for COVID-19.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement that Mr. Biden had tested positive earlier today after an event in Las Vegas. He was scheduled to speak at a conference for the Latino civil rights and advocacy group UnidosUs, but its president Janet Murguia announced he would no longer be able to attend.
Jean-Pierre said the president had been vaccinated and given a booster shot and was experiencing mild symptoms.
“He will return to Delaware, self-isolate, and perform all of his duties during that time,” she said. “The White House will provide regular updates on the President’s condition as he continues to perform all of his duties while in quarantine.”
