President Biden said former President Trump’s language did not represent the United States after the former president shared a video on social media in which he mentioned a “unified empire.”
Biden’s re-election campaign released a video showing President Trump reacting to a video he shared on his Truth social pages Monday night. The video contains hypothetical headlines about his potential victory in November, including one referring to a “unified empire.”
“Is this on his official account? Wow,” Biden said in the video. “Unified Empire? That’s Hilter’s language, not America’s. He is interested in maintaining power. “I care about you.”
The Biden campaign, the White House and Vice President Harris also slammed the video Tuesday morning. The video, which was not produced by the Trump campaign, was taken down Tuesday morning.
Biden mentioned this at a fundraiser in Boston on Tuesday evening, calling Trump “a little unstable.”
“Yesterday his campaign posted online that if he wins, there will be a unified empire like the Third Reich. “This is a person who speaks Hitler’s language, not America’s language,” he said.
He added: “No wonder he said about four months ago that Hitler had a good quote. I think it could be a little longer.”
Biden referenced a conversation former Trump White House chief of staff John Kelly said had Trump speaking favorably of Adolf Hitler and saying he had done “good things.” Kelly spoke about the conversation in an interview with CNN in March.
