The intention was to link the evaluation of Raviv, a member of the progressive Renew faction, with the evaluation of Rothwall, a member of the center-right EPP faction.
“The EPP is now actually hanging Lahbib over Roswall,” a Renew parliamentary aide said ahead of the meeting.
In the end, Raviv was confirmed with the support of more than two-thirds of the National Assembly members, which is the threshold necessary to advance to the next stage of confirmation.
Ultimately, a political agreement between political groups paved the way for Lahbib’s confirmation and Roswall’s confirmation.
