The PCB announced on Saturday that the Bangladesh senior cricket team will arrive in Pakistan on August 13 after preparations for the two-match Test series were halted due to political unrest in the country. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has accepted the invitation from the PCB in this regard. Bangladesh will face Pakistan in two matches as part of the ICC World Test Championship. The first Test will be played in Rawalpindi on August 21 and 25 while the second match will be played in Karachi between August 30 and September 3.
PCB Chief Operating Officer Salman Nasir said he was delighted that BCB had accepted the invitation.
“Sports is not just about winning and losing, it’s about camaraderie. I am confident that the additional training sessions in Lahore will enable the (Bangladesh) players to showcase their skills and talents on the world stage,” Nasir said.
BCB Chief Executive Officer Nizam Uddin Chowdhury thanked the PCB for providing the opportunity for the Bangladesh cricket team to undergo additional training in Pakistan.
“This will definitely help the players adapt to the environment and prepare better for the ICC World Test Championship series,” he said.
Bangladesh will train at the Gaddafi Stadium from August 14 to 16 before moving to Rawalpindi on August 17 for practice sessions starting August 18.
This will be Bangladesh’s first visit to Pakistan after they played three T20Is in Lahore and one Test in Rawalpindi in 2020.
