Ball State hired Mike Uremovich as the Cardinals’ head coach on Wednesday.
Uremovic, previously the head coach at Butler, returns to the Mid-American Conference after serving as an assistant coach at Northern Illinois for six seasons, most recently as offensive coordinator from 2016-18.
Uremovich also had stops at the FBS level at Temple (2019-21) and North Carolina State (2013-15). He has worked with current Ball State defensive coordinator Jeff Knowles at both schools, Butler and Northern Illinois, and may decide to keep Knowles.
Mike Neu was fired on November 16 with two games remaining, becoming the first Cardinals manager to be fired during the season. Ball State was 3-7 at the time of his dismissal and 40-63 under Noe.
Uremovich was 23-11 at Butler.
