Baku, Azerbaijan, December 23. Electronic services and information system AMIN (Azerbaijan Multicultural Information Network) portal was presented in Baku. “It’s a trend report,” said Ramin Mammadov, chairman of the State Committee for the Work of Religious Organizations.
He spoke today at the Forum of Religious Persons of Azerbaijan on the topic “Urgent Problems of Religious Enlightenment: Traditions, Experiences and Prospects.”
Mammadov pointed out that Azerbaijan is a unique place where various ethnic and religious communities live together, share common values, and serve as spiritual bridges between civilizations.
“The liberated territories are being revived, and our religious monuments are regaining their historical appearance. The Heydar Aliyev Foundation, on the initiative of First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva, is restoring historical and cultural monuments of Karabakh and eastern Zangezur. You are doing your job successfully.
The Juma Mosque in Aghdam, the Mosque in Zangilan, Yukhari Govhar Agha, Ashaghy Govhar Agha, Mamayi, Taza Mahalla and Saatli were operational after restoration. In several cities and regions, construction and restoration of mosques as well as churches are underway.
In his speech, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that tolerance, multiculturalism and respect for religions are our way of life. Our people, with their high moral qualities, cannot imagine any other alternative than respect for the values, traditions and heritage of others. In Azerbaijani thinking and historical memory there is no experience of intolerance towards other nations and beliefs.
We see ethnic and religious diversity not as a dividing line, but as a unifying factor that fosters mutual dialogue. We live in a stable, safe and prosperous society. We have a strong state that accepts and protects all citizens, regardless of religion or ethnic background, from harm.
One of the main goals of the AMIN portal is to organize religious education activities at a higher level. We believe that this portal will ensure the availability and transparency of the services provided by the National Commission for the Activities of Religious Organizations. At the same time, the information system presented on the portal will present a unique picture of Azerbaijani multiculturalism.
During the forum we will hear proposals from religious figures, government officials, academics and public representatives and witness interesting discussions. Speeches and panel discussions will provide a clear understanding of the main directions and current issues of Azerbaijan’s state policy in the field of religion.
At the same time, this will allow us to study the existing situation, problems, threats and challenges related to the religious situation in the country and make constructive comments and suggestions on the legislative framework,” he added.
For your information, more than 100 religious and Islamic leaders gathered at the Forum of Religious Persons in Azerbaijan under the theme “Urgent Problems of Religious Enlightenment: Traditions, Experience and Prospects” organized by the National Committee for Cooperation with Religious Organizations. and non-Islamic religious communities of various religions invited from Azerbaijan region.
