The meeting highlighted that the discussions held during the meeting between Ethiopian President Tai Aske Selassie and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the COP29 Leaders’ Summit in Baku opened a new chapter in the development of cooperation between the two countries and defined the roadmap.
Specific areas of cooperation in trade, investment, agriculture, tourism, education and other fields were also discussed, and it was decided to create a legal and contractual framework and working groups in related areas. Expressed satisfaction with Ethiopia’s establishment of a citizen service center based on the ASAN service concept, a successful project of Azerbaijan in this field. During this visit, the third round of political negotiations between the foreign ministries of the two countries was also held. These political negotiations were led by Deputy Foreign Minister Yalcin Rafiyev on the Azerbaijani side and Foreign Minister Mesganu Arga on the Ethiopian side. At the political consultation, political and economic issues between the two countries were discussed, as well as cooperation within the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement, and other international organizations.
