Atomfall, the upcoming game from Sniper Elite developer Rebellion, is looking to be another take on British post-apocalypse with a radioactive tint, rather than the official Fallout interpretation of our sad little island. Proper release date. It arrives on March 25, 2025, as a new trailer delivers, featuring a very British countryside vibe.
We technically got British Fallout thanks to the massive mod Fallout: London earlier this year, but since Atomfall was announced we haven’t had too many bugs and we’ve really liked it. Whether it’s warranted is up to you to decide, and now we have more material.

Closing in on the aforementioned release date of March 25th next year, Atomfall’s latest trailer is set in an iconic British location: the Forest. In fact, Casterfell Woods made this clear in an Xbox Wire post released alongside the trailer by Rebellion Deputy Head of Design Ben Fisher. Apparently it was a “wild and inhospitable place, underpinned by an immediately eerie atmosphere.”
Yes, when you add in the generous supply of discarded condoms and lager cans scattered next to the Wicker Man that Casterfell has, that’s a very accurate description of many of the wooded areas around where I live. The trailer basically shows a poor fellow being assaulted by a stranger who walks by listening to folk songs and whistling next to an old phone box, and it looks very realistic, even in the UK.
Anyway, the phone booth is ringing and Fisher says it’s important, writing: “At the Windscale Nuclear Power Plant a few years ago.”
In terms of influences, the developer added that Atomfall draws on classic sci-fi like Doctor Who, The Quatermass Experiment and The Day of the Triffids, adding survival action, namely the creepy forest portions of the action.
When it launches, it will be available to play on PC, Xbox Series Let us know how tough the local forests are below and if you plan on playing Atomfall.
