Following reports that Apple is internally testing iOS 18.2.1 for iPhone, an anonymous social media account with a history of sharing iOS-related information has revealed the build number of the upcoming software update: 22C161.
Now that the build number is known, the update has been confirmed.
When an anonymous account shares the build number of a future iOS version, the update is usually released within a week. However, since we are currently in the holiday season, it may take longer for the update to be released. We will continue to honor accounts’ requests not to link to social media posts.
iOS 18.2.1 should be a minor update that fixes bugs or addresses security vulnerabilities, but it’s unclear what specific issues it may address.
