The first UK physical sales charts for 2025 have arrived, with Hogwarts Legacy once again taking the top spot.
In fact, it’s quite notable that the sales charts don’t include many 2024 releases. Only three titles on the list have been released in 2024.
Circana analyst Mat Piscatella commented on this at Bluesky: “The biggest challenge for the video game industry heading into 2025 is that the list of most played games today looks the same as it did in 2018. That’s my hill. I also think this is a very bad thing for the entire industry.”
anyway. The biggest challenge for the video game industry heading into 2025 is that the list of most played games today looks the same as it did in 2018. That’s my hill. I also believe this is a very bad thing for the entire industry.

Hogwarts Legacy currently enjoys the honor of hitting 100 chart hits, and last we heard it had sold over 30 million copies.
EA Sports 25 took second place and Elden Ring suddenly rose back to third place. Perhaps the Christmas sales helped? Considering that it was last reported that 28.6 million units were sold, it doesn’t need much help.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 fell to #4, its lowest level since launch. These sales are important because not long ago we discovered exactly how much it costs to make a Call of Duty game.
