Welcome to Arsecast Extra, my and James’ Arsenal podcast. @gunnerblog.
In this episode, we look back at Sunday’s eventful 3-2 win in the North London derby. Although we weren’t at our best, we were up 3-0 at half-time. We discuss the goals we scored and how we took advantage of the opposition’s lack of preparation and awareness, especially from set pieces. Ben White and Declan Rice had some fun with that. We also talked about the chances they had at the other end, including a goal disallowed before heading into the second half. The focus is on David Raya’s mistakes and his and his teammates’ reactions to them. There is a lot of focus on conceding a late penalty and how it made the last 10 minutes terrifying and tense, but underlying it was the fact that we had won and had three points. Spurs have a trashy trumpet. Then there are questions from listeners about Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka’s reaction to abuse in the stands, Thomas Partey’s future and more.
