There has been so much change at Liverpool in recent months that it has been difficult to keep up with all the new faces arriving, but Arne Slot has helped with that.
Speaking to the press about John Heitinga, he said: “John has played a lot of games in the Premier League and was assistant manager at West Ham last season, so he brings experience not only as a player but also as an assistant manager in this league.
“And he’s worked with someone I know really well, and we have pretty similar playing styles, so I don’t think it’ll take him long to understand exactly what we want from our players.”

Given the former Everton defender’s time at Ajax, it’s likely our new manager will share some similarities with his new team-mate.
At 40, he is likely to be in the spotlight because of his Goodison Park connection, but this deal looks like a wise move to secure a deal with the Reds.
