Over the past few days, Andi Dorfman has had reasons to celebrate and reasons to be very worried.
First, the former Bachelorette lead gave birth to her and husband Blaine Hart’s first child on December 20, announcing their daughter’s blessed arrival via Instagram at the time.
“After 28 hours of work, we are officially a party of three.”
Dorfman was then admitted to the hospital.
Less than a week after giving birth, Dorfman had surgery to remove a hematoma, a blood clot that had formed outside a blood vessel.
“Wellbeing, we’re back! “This time is for mom.” The reality star took to her Instagram Story on December 27 to elaborate:
“After returning home, I was so heartbroken and it got worse day by day.
“The internet said it would take time to recover, but I still felt something was wrong and finally, after trying all the home remedies, I called the doctor and he told me to come right away.”
The 37-year-old continued:
“It turned out that the cause of the pain was one large and one small hematoma. Within a few hours we were at the hospital and prepped for surgery.
“It’s a very simple procedure, but it’s still pretty scary giving birth to a 6-day-old baby (and there’s still a lot of hormones lurking around).”
Of course. We can’t even imagine.
As a new parent, Dorfman admitted she felt “some guilt” because of concerns about: herself Instead of her daughter, “But I realized that if I’m not good, he’s not good either.”
And the ABC personality left a valuable lesson for others as well.
“No matter how much you don’t know about motherhood,” she added.
“You still know your body best! Listen! Yes, recovery is hard and it varies from person to person, but your instincts are sound (and probably right).”
Dorfman and Hart previously introduced their daughter’s name on Dec. 22 with an adorable family photo.
“Introducing… Harper Bell Hart. Our sweet daughter came into this world weighing a solid 7 pounds, 13 ounces and towering like her dad’s 20.5 inches tall!” they wrote in a joint Instagram post.
“We love her more than we could have ever imagined. As I watched, tears came to my eyes on the spot, and my dad wrapped his cute little finger around me…
“Thank you for all the amazing blessings you have sent us, and a huge thank you to our girl for making us the most shy, proud and joyful parents! “This is truly the best gift we have ever received.”
