The Davante Adams sweepstakes has early suitors lining up, but the star winner also has a wish list.
The Las Vegas Raiders’ star receiver included the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints on his list of preferred destinations after he requested a trade, ESPN reported Wednesday. Adams has a clear connection to each team, dating back to his college days at Fresno State and having two of the best quarterbacks in his career.

Aaron Rodgers hasn’t been shy about his desire to play with Adams again. In July, the Jets’ quarterback said he was looking forward to reuniting with Adams on the field someday.
FOX Sports’ Craig Carton reported Wednesday that the Jets made an offer to Adams.
According to The Athletic, there will be several teams interested in the former All-Pro, and the Dallas Cowboys are reportedly one of them. NFL insider Josina Anderson reported that the Pittsburgh Steelers also have “primary interest” in Adams.
Like the Jets and Saints, the Cowboys and Steelers each have a clear top wide receiver, but there’s more uncertainty at the position than that. Other than CeeDee Lamb, Dallas only has one wide receiver with 10 or more receptions and 100 or more receiving yards through the first four games. In Pittsburgh, George Pickens is the only wide receiver with at least 10 receptions so far this season.
Of course, Rodgers and Adams formed one of the best quarterback-wide receiver duos in the NFL during their several seasons with the Green Bay Packers. Adams has made five Pro Bowls and led the NFL in receiving touchdowns in 2020 during the eight seasons he played with Rodgers. Rodgers, on the other hand, won MVP in each of the last two seasons he played alongside Adams.
For the Saints, Adams played alongside quarterback Derek Carr in college and for one season with the Raiders. In his lone NFL season with Carr, Adams had 100 receptions for 1,516 yards and a league-leading 14 touchdowns.
Both the Jets and Saints have a clear No. 1 receiver, but there are some questions about their talent at the position beyond that. New York has only two wide receivers with over 150 receiving yards, as Garrett Wilson is off to a quiet start. For New Orleans, Rashid Shahid has emerged as the clear No. 2 to Chris Olave, but no other wide receiver on the team has more than four catches.
The Jets made an offer to Davante Adams.
Some of the obvious candidates to land Adams are on the initial list of suitors, but one of the teams commonly assumed to land him appears to be an unlikely destination. ESPN reported that the Kansas City Chiefs are not a likely option for Adams. Kansas City may have lost its best wide receiver of the season, Rashee Rice, in Week 4. That’s because there are reports there are concerns he may have torn his ACL. Marquise “Hollywood” Brown is also expected to miss the regular season after suffering a shoulder injury in August, leaving the two-time defending champions with concerns at wide receiver.
