Amazon’s A technical issue with the checkout feature on Friday prevented customers from completing their purchases. The e-commerce site displayed an error message with a picture of a dog during the outage, according to what people were posting on social media.
Amazon relies on its own data center infrastructure to run its website. However, the company’s Amazon Web Services division did not report any technical issues while the checkout feature was down. AWS downtime can cause problems across the Internet, as many companies rely on the market-leading public cloud.
An Amazon spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Ahead of the long weekend in the United States, Amazon began promoting discounts on products as part of its Labor Day sale. But as some people pointed out on the X social network, the error prevented people from purchasing the discounted products.
