If you’ve been wanting to take a Pokemon nostalgia trip since falling in love with TCG Pocket, you’ll be happy to hear that Pokemon TV is back!
Earlier this year, The Pokemon Company announced that its anime viewing app, Pokemon TV, would be shutting down. This didn’t go down well with anime fans. That’s because fans had to subscribe to eight different streaming services to watch all of the anime. It’s a real shame, because even though the animation is a mixed bag, there’s still a lot to love, and these things should be more accessible! But there is good news. Earlier this week, The Pokemon Company brought Pokemon TV back to its YouTube channel, and several episodes from the first season are already available to watch.
Right now we’re up to episode 14 of the first season, but the playlist with Indigo League shows a total of 25 episodes, so there’s definitely more to come. “Welcome to the official Pokémon TV YouTube channel, where you can explore the world of Pokémon with Ash and Pikachu!” Describes the About section of the channel. “Experience the most iconic moments from their adventures through full episodes, live streams, compilations, and more!” It’s unclear what live streaming and editing will look like, but right now it seems like the best way to go is to check out the Pokemon anime, which is completely free!
Everything seems to be done very neatly, as every episode is time-stamped with different important moments that happen within it. So you know exactly what you want. Plus, considering it’s been almost a year since we’ve heard any news about a mainline game, it seems like a great way to spend some time in the world of Pokémon. Pokemon Legends: ZA is currently in its next phase, and we’ll likely hear more about it on February 27th, the next Pokemon Day. But until then, I guess I’ll just have to keep opening packets in Pokemon TCG Pocket.
