It has been revealed that Alejandro Garnacho deactivated his X/Twitter account ahead of Sunday’s game against Liverpool.
He also updated his Instagram bio with a “NO TWITTER” note.
There was a lot of speculation during the process of building the game as to why this was. It’s no secret that the 20-year-old is not a natural fit for Ruben Amorim’s new system.
The Argentine’s training form and his off-field attitude were also questioned by the Portuguese coach, who left him out of the Manchester derby matchday squad.
He hasn’t started since, with plenty of criticism leveled at his camp for matchday leaks, and his recent inconsistent displays have seen plenty of social media vitriol come his way.
Garnacho’s Extreme Step
And with the manager demanding more from his big stars, Garnacho’s actions may have finally led him to realize the importance of focus and hard work and not letting outside comments influence his play.
Or perhaps reports of his shocking exit under Amorim simply sent a message that he was unhappy with his situation.

But all that talk faded into the background on Sunday when the talented winger replaced Kobe Mainu and scored for the Red Devils at Anfield.
Liverpool regained the lead through a Mohamed Salah penalty, and after losing 1-2 after such a good performance, the Portuguese tactician may have felt his players would give up as they have done in the past.
But Garnacho had other ideas as he tracked back to give the hosts possession and eventually Bruno Fernandes’ ball fell to him.

He remained as positive as ever, putting in a low cross for Ibrahim Konate for Amad Diallo to finish and set up the final finish of the game.
The coach will have been pleased with what his replacement has produced and now he must maintain this level. He may just be taking his coach’s advice.
In fact, Harry Maguire had the chance to secure all three points when the ball fell to him from the final kick of the game, but the Englishman could not stop trying as Manchester United earned a point in a thrilling 2-2 draw.
This was the Red Devils’ best performance under Amorim and showed how the team can raise their game level in crucial situations. The real challenge now is to remain consistent.
Garnacho must continue to work hard and try to make an impact every time he comes on until he can regain his starting spot and earn his coach’s trust in the process. Manchester United should not give up on Garnacho just yet.
