“He handles challenging and difficult situations very well. I may have told this story. Stop me if I had to tell you what happened in India a few years ago. I was just questioning Dizzy (Jason Gillespie) to get out of the predicament of losing a Test match for two days on a terrible cricket pitch that was not up to standard, and obviously he was wary of a match fine or a match ban.
“He just said, ‘I can’t tell you anything, but one of my friends messaged me and said that was the worst pitch he’s ever seen,'” Gilchrist said.
“So, that’s Digi’s diplomacy, that’s his ability to bounce off, to protect people around him, to keep himself out of trouble. So I expect a lot of the same from the big guy,” he added.

Jason Gillespie’s Coaching Experience
Gillespie was an aggressive fast bowler at the time, who could also contribute useful runs down the order with the bat. He took over 400 wickets in international cricket and also had a double hundred in Test cricket.
Jason Gillespie has a lot of experience as a head coach. He has coached in county cricket, the IPL and the Big Bash League. But his stint in Pakistan is his first as a coach of an international team.
Meanwhile, Pakistan cricket is going through its worst period at the moment. The team was knocked out of the T20 World Cup 2024 in the group stage after a shocking defeat to the United States. However, the recent loss to Bangladesh did not help them and they will be looking to bounce back with a win in their second match.
