This is something you need to wake up to. Here is an interesting report from Andreas Makris: empty4ri (am@think-awesome.com) and co-author: Kevin Finisterre; d0tslashjohn Sawyer, JCase
Anzu Raptor has come up with a workaround for the upcoming DJI ban. I know from my conversation with Randall Warnas that they sold their first shipment almost immediately.
Andreas’ report can be summarized like this, and it’s full of delicious data, so click the link or read below. But I encourage you to read it either way.
I’ll be adding some interaction with Randall on Raptor release date so you can compare and contrast.
- hardware: According to FCC filings and component comparisons, it is identical to the DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise.
- Drone Firmware: It appears to be the default DJI firmware with no major customizations detected. Anzu’s claims about custom firmware are unfounded.
- remote control: Rebranded DJI RC Pro with a custom app (Aloft ai app) built on the DJI SDK.
- Aloft App: It uses the DJI SDK and does not appear to offer any significant advantages over the existing DJI Pilot app. The security claims associated with the app seem questionable.
