A pre-release build of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has reportedly leaked online.
According to Reddit users, the developer build was uploaded to torrent sites in late June.
It’s fully playable from start to finish, and you can even play with your friends.
The opening mission video has been uploaded to our YouTube channel and contains major story spoilers.
The sequel to the 2011 hack-and-slash game Space Marine, developed by Saber Interactive and published by Focus Entertainment, has been reached out to VGC for comment on the leak.
Revealed at The Game Awards in 2021, and originally scheduled for a 2023 release but delayed, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is now set to release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on September 9, 2024.
In late June, Saber and Focus announced that the Space Marine 2 open beta had been cancelled.
They argued that running a beta version as originally planned would be a distraction for game developers preparing to release their games.
“Space Marine 2 is nearly finished,” they wrote. “We are now fully focused on optimizing, polishing, and addressing any remaining issues ahead of our September 9 release.
“This means we won’t be running a public online beta. It would take time away from the development team to prepare for a full release, and our priority is to ensure the best possible experience at launch.”
Earlier this month, Focus announced that Space Marine 2 had reached Gold status, meaning that major development on the title is complete.
