Once again, Congress, a Republican-led Congress, tried to force quick action on the American people. It didn’t work this time.
Pressure from Elon Musk and President Trump forced Chairman Johnson to scrap the 1,500-page Continuing Resolution (CR) to raise government funds.
Instead of expressing gratitude, Democratic House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries offered predictable condolences. He accused Republicans of orchestrating a government shutdown and harming the working class.
This bill was more than just a funding package. It contained what many conservatives viewed as excessive spending, special interest giveaways and provisions friendly to the J6 committee. This has all been a point of contention for advocates of government efficiency and fiscal responsibility.
“House Republicans have now decided to unilaterally tear up the bipartisan agreement they reached. House Republicans were ordered to shut down the government and hurt Americans across this country,” Jeffries (D-NY) claimed without evidence.
“An agreement is an agreement. “It was so bipartisan that I had nothing more to say,” he said.
Jeffries seems to think that the word ‘bipartisan’ means that something is infallible. I regret to inform you that a bad CR is a bad CR, regardless of which politician supports it.
It was rightfully killed.
Elon Musk hits back at Hakeem Jeffries
Meet Elon Musk, a billionaire entrepreneur who criticizes government inefficiencies and recently served as co-chair of Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Jeffries posted his remarks to X, and Musk taunted him. Elon’s response to Jeffries’ complaint was brief and poignant.
“I think the public thinks it’s stupid. “Not really.” he wrote
If you think about it, the entire Democratic Party is like that. Not to mention the Republicans who have followed this wasteful spending game over and over again, lining their own pockets time and time again.
Friends, that era seems to be over.

good day in america
Musk’s comments not only highlighted the growing public awareness and scrutiny of political maneuvering, but also a growing sentiment against the status quo in Washington spending.
His participation along with Vivek Ramaswamy marks a bold attempt to bring some level of accountability and transparency to the running of the government. It’s a move that resonates with many people who are tired of the routine approach to government funding but feel powerless to do anything. About that.
Musk’s repeated bashing of CR over
President-elect Donald Trump also made clear his opposition to CR by posting on Truth Social.
“It sounds like PLUS, a ridiculous and incredibly expensive ongoing resolution, is fading away fast, but can anyone imagine passing this without ending or extending the debt ceiling guillotine coming in June?” Trump said.
“Unless Democrats end the debt limit now or significantly extend it, I will fight to the end. “This is a nasty trap set by the Radical Left Democrats!”

“The voice of the people has been heard,” he said. “Today was a good day for America.”
