Nat Sciver-Brunt has revealed that he missed England’s T20 match against Pakistan on May 11 to undergo egg freezing treatment.
Cyber-Brunt, 31, who has been married to former England international Catherine Cyber-Brunt since 2022, plans to start a family in the future.
“Katherine and I want to start a family, but we also want to continue playing cricket,” Nat Sciver-Brunt said on the Under The Lid podcast.
“I thought it would be a good time to go through the egg freezing process to create embryos and store them in the freezer for the next few years in the time leading up to the start of this tour when I got back from New Zealand.”
Katherine and Nat Sciver-Brunt have both said they want to have a baby.
Katherine Sciver-Brunt added to the podcast: “For me it feels like I have to go now, but that’s different for me. Nat wants to compete in the 2028 Olympics. So instead of freezing them now and using those eggs from a 36-year-old, why not have some really healthy, good eggs that produce younger eggs?
“It’s really great to have a choice because it’s not cheap and it’s very invasive. But if you can do it, it’s a really good thing because it puts your mind at ease and you don’t feel pressured to stop. You can focus as best as you can on what you love to do.”
