Andy Townsend was full of praise for one Liverpool player during Monday night’s 3-3 draw with Aston Villa.
Although the result means little in the context of the Reds’ season as a whole, it was a momentous trip to the Midlands for Jarell Quansah. Jarell Quansah scored his first Premier League goal with a brilliant header early in the second half to make it 3-1.
Speaking to Premier League Productions, the former Chelsea midfielder liked the technique the 21-year-old showed when he nodded the ball past Emilinao Martinez.
Townsend said: “Lucas Digne, completely unmarked, was slow to react again. He got Jarell Quansah for a free run, but hung admirably in the air once he got there. He’s doing his best to keep the ball under the bar and send it perfectly into the far corner. “What a great header.”

Quansah’s goal was naturally the standout moment of the night at Villa Park, but apart from a doubtful moment ahead of Youri Tielemans’ early equalizer, the Liverpool centre-back had a tremendous performance throughout.
According to SofaScore, the 21-year-old completed 66 of 72 passes (92%), converted three long balls, won five of eight duels, made four clearances and made four blocks. , recorded three tackles and two interceptions.

It’s true that Digne could be criticized for his role in United’s third goal, but the man in the number 78 shirt still finished with the composure of an experienced centre-forward, heading his shot into the visitors’ net.
It was the perfect way for Quansah to cap off a very fine first season at Premier League level, and he now has a strong platform to build on for the post-Jurgen Klopp era at Liverpool.
