Tallin, Estonia- Figure skaters and others who died of aerial collision near Washington, Washington, will be honored if the World Championship is held in Boston in March.
JAE YOUL KIM, chairman of the International Skating Union, shed tears at the European Championships held in Tallinn on Friday.
At the National Skating Camp in Kansas, the skaters, coaches and families were one of the people who died when the passenger jet hit the helicopter on Wednesday. They included two teen skaters, their mother and two coaches, who were members of the Boston Skating Club.
“We want to focus on supporting people who have lost their lives and support people who have lost their loved ones. We said that we will walk one step at once. “KIM is noticeably emotional and told the Associated Press about the impact of a conflict on the skating community.
“We will discuss what to honor Boston’s opponents and those who have left us in this tragic way. One way to respect them is to provide the greatest events and express respect. . “
Kim said, including the European champion ADAM SIAO, the FA in France has a dedicated program for the victims of the crash at the European Championships.
Kim said, “We are all sad, but this is to collect solidarity of figure skating community.”
The figure skating world also mourned Dick Button, the second Olympic gold medalist and broadcaster who died at the age of 95.
Kim said, “He left a big footprint in our lives. “He was much bigger than a great skater. He was an innovator and a pioneer. ”
