Manchester City have accepted AC Milan’s official bid for Kyle Walker.
The deal agreed is a loan with an option to buy the England international permanently in the summer.
The option is worth approximately 4.2 million pounds (5 million euros). Italian sky.
Walker is scheduled to arrive in Milan around lunchtime today, move to a hotel, and receive medical treatment in the afternoon.
He is scheduled to go to AC Milan’s headquarters, Casa Milan, to sign the contract.
Since joining City for £50m from Tottenham in 2017, Walker has helped City win 17 trophies, including six Premier League titles and the Champions League.
He came close to joining Bayern Munich following City’s treble win in 2023, but signed a contract extension to keep him at the club until 2026.
Commenting on the success City have achieved with Walker, Guardiola said: “We cannot understand the success we have had without Kyle. It is impossible.”
“He arrived with us eight years ago and we started winning, winning, winning, winning. He was an important part of our team as well as the national team.”
‘It makes sense to split the road between City and Walker.’
Lewis Jones on Sky Sports:
Walker’s parting ways with Manchester City are significant for both parties.
Walker may have asked to leave, but there is unlikely to be much resistance from the club’s decision-makers with the England squad clearly on the decline this season.
A player who had built his career on being virtually invincible in one-on-one duels was now an easy target for opposing flankers.
Even Timo Werner, who has struggled with form and confidence issues at Tottenham, showed Walker had the clean feet to net Spurs’ fourth goal in their crushing defeat to City earlier this season.
it led Sky Sports’ Gary Neville said: “We don’t see him often, but we have seen him a few times in the last few weeks. Vinicius Junior, Kylian Mbappe, he has handled everything. Walker, but he is struggling.”
Walker’s error isn’t just an odd error, it’s taking on a catalog vibe. His presence, with or without it, was more of a hindrance than a help to Guardiola.
