Research firm Newzoo has revealed the highest-grossing console and PC games in the first quarter of 2024.
The data covers premium and in-game spending across the United States and in the five largest gaming markets in Europe last year: the UK, Germany, France, Spain and Italy.
According to Newzoo, Fortnite leads all tracked markets, accounting for more than 10% of total revenue in the first three months of the year.
EA Sports FC 24, which was the highest-grossing title in Europe, came in second place, generating 8.3% of total revenue.
Other top games included Helldivers 2 in 3rd place, Call of Duty HQ (Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 3, and Warzone) in 4th place, and NBA 2K24 in 5th place.
Madden NFL 24 ranked sixth, followed by Dragon’s Dogma 2, Palworld, and Valorant. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege ranked 10th, accounting for 1.6% of total revenue.
Based on cumulative sales in the first quarter, Fortnite took first place among console games, and Helldiver 2 beat Pal World and took first place among PC games.
According to Newzoo, the global gaming market will generate approximately $184 billion in 2023, up 0.6% from 2022 and down 5% from the previous year.
Gaming market sales are expected to grow to $189.3 billion in 2024 and $205.7 billion in 2026.
