three.
What is your favorite book-to-film or book-to-TV adaptation?
Honestly, recently poor things. That book is truly amazing. And reading this before watching the movie is very helpful and insightful.
I still always think of Emma Stone’s performance and the visual design of the entire film.
I think the world really felt like a camp and it was really amazing. I really, really liked it. It just worked. I didn’t even have to be 100% faithful to the book. But if it works with the book, I’m happy.
i feel the same The turtle goes all the way down That too. We added things. We added professors. I love moments in movies when a character says the title. Added Chicago trip. We took some stuff with us. But for the most part, we stuck to the book.
I think that’s a good thing, because as a fan of the book, I’m happy when adaptations expand the world and add meaningful things. Like, I’m a huge fan of Daisy Jones and the SixAnd the TV show added so much to it that wasn’t in the original novel, which I really enjoyed.
exactly! for someone turtle, But there are some minor details that have changed. For example, you’ll notice that Aza’s Band-Aid finger is not centered. It’s actually like the pads of her fingers. So that changed. Oh, and Davis doesn’t have glasses. In the trailer, many people were confused because Davis didn’t have glasses. It’s really fun. I guess I’m glad they didn’t do that though. Because I don’t like seeing really hot people with glasses in movies. I think, Okay, come on. For example, if you’re really that hot, you might be able to afford some contact.
(laugh) right. It’s always like that. We get it. He’s sexy and smart. We don’t need glasses to tell us.
yes! (laugh) I feel like it might be a little too close to my nose. good night, Oh, that guy is smart. That person-
He’s embarrassed.
(laugh) Then he would take off his glasses and it would be even hotter. That’s not how it works.
John also said in a recent interview that, like me, “I wanted to take too much of the book out of the movie.” He said, “That’s not a good idea. Where did that come from?” “We should keep it because it’s in the book,” Hannah said. He said, “But do you have to do that?”
I like it from his perspective. Like if his book was adapted he could go back and do it again if he wanted to.
But it’s real. It’s like everyone is ashamed of what happened a few years ago. The truth is that you grow and have a different perspective. Even though it may have been everything to someone, that doesn’t mean your story won’t change. All right. I do the same thing with my songs.
