Arne Slot is yet to recover from the defeat to Nottingham Forest earlier in the season and their supporters want him to make sure they remember that.
During the match at the City Ground, the home fans kept chanting that our manager was the manager, and the manager was asked to comment on this after the game.
A media representative said: “Arne, you speak very highly of the Forest fans, especially considering they are singing to you…”
To this he answered: “Oh, really?”
The Dutchman was asked: “Did you take that well?”
And he said this: “Is it because you were satisfied with our team’s style of play, or(?) why did you sing for me?”
Confirmed: “They were singing about Nottingham Forest being in your head.”
The 46-year-old added: “Ah, okay.”
“I thought you just liked our style of play… But I didn’t understand them well.
“I was joking, but you understand. Yeah, I didn’t really notice it that much. But if I say it happens a lot, it’s probably true.
“Not only did they sing for me, but they also helped the team a lot.
“It’s a great stadium to play in. It’s my first time here but it’s normal. They’re having an amazing season so it would be strange if the fans booed.”
For someone who has had such an impressive winning record this season, he has plenty of praise for the only team he has not beaten so far.
Arne Slot has a lot of respect for Nottingham Forest and their fans.
The former Feyenoord manager remained classy and showed he was unaffected by the songs he was leading.
It was at the same press conference that more transfer questions were raised about Jurgen Klopp’s replacement, with Klopp handily dismissing similar concerns.
Instead, he found more time to acknowledge the role of Diogo Jota and Kostas Tsimikas in making an immediate impact. This topic is undoubtedly an easy one to discuss.
