Mumbai opening batsman Prithvi Shaw has once again made headlines for his social media antics. While others are busy preparing for the next round of the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024-25, Shaw took a break from sports and expressed his frustration at the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA).
In fact, Prithvi Shaw shared another cryptic post on Instagram after being left out of the Mumbai squad for the next Ranji Trophy 2024-25 match against Jammu & Kashmir starting from January 23. But this time the right-hander attacked openly. Mumbai selectors.

Earlier, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) had ruled out the unpopular Indian opener midway through the first match of the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024-25 citing fitness and discipline reasons. However, Shaw got a call back for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2024-25.

However, the once promising talent failed to live up to expectations in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2024-25. Here he could only manage 197 runs in 9 innings with a highest score of 49. This form made MCA and Mumbai mandatory. Selectors overlooking Shaw in Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) 2024-25.
However, this decision did not sit well with Shaw. Shaw took to social media to criticize Mumbai for dropping him in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25. He wrote on Instagram: “Oh my god, tell me what else I need to see… 65 innings, 3399 batting average of 55.7, and strikeout rate of 126 are still not enough. … But I will keep my faith in you, and I hope people still believe in me… because I will definitely come back. Om Sai Ram.”
State body officials did not sit well with the MCA as neither Ranji Trophy captain Ajinkya Rahane nor SMAT and VHT captain Shreyas Iyer claimed to be happy with Prithvi Shaw’s attitude. He also claimed Shaw had been partying until 6am during the SMAT and had not followed the fitness plan he had been given.

Well, Shaw’s fitness and form have been a hot topic for a long time, and his social media outbursts have often worked against him, but he continues to make the same mistakes over and over again.
However, the Indian cricketer worked hard to get fit after participating in the Police Shield tournament but was overlooked by the MCA and Mumbai selectors for the next round of the ongoing Ranji season.
After being sidelined by Mumbai’s Ranji clashes over Jammu & Kashmir, Prithvi Shaw added fuel to the fire by launching a fresh attack on the MCAs. The opening batsman said he could drop him, but he couldn’t stop him from working without mentioning anything.
