The popular Opera web browser has just released a major update to its iPhone and iPad apps. In the new version, Opera is making it easier for users to interact with Aria, the company’s built-in AI, with a new home screen widget. Read more about everything that’s new in the latest Opera update for iOS.
As detailed in the blog post, the latest version of Opera for iOS brings new home screen widgets. These widgets are fully customizable and allow users to access the main features of their web browser with a single tap. For example, you can use the widget to open a new tab in private mode or Ask Aria.
There are many more features. You can find more shortcuts by pressing and holding the icon. “These additional features speed up everyday navigation by giving you one-tap access to the most important features,” Opera says.
But there is another important change in this update. Opera’s Aria AI is now available to anyone, even if they’re not logged in. Aria allows users to ask questions via text or voice input. Aria can search the web and even generate images using Google’s Imagen 3 Fast model.
To use Aria without an account, simply update your iOS app to the latest version, according to Opera. The only thing to keep in mind is that if you are not logged in, image creation is limited to 5 images per day, while registered users can create up to 30 images per day.
Opera also thanks iOS users for “significant recent growth.”
Because of these innovative, user-focused updates, Opera for iOS has seen significant growth in recent years. From September to November 2024, our flagship browser for iPhone saw a 33% increase in new users across the European Union and a 31% increase globally! That’s why we continue to roll out exciting new features as we strive to create the best Browning experience possible, thanks to you.
The Opera browser for iOS is available for free on the App Store. You’ll need an iPhone or iPad running iOS 14 or later.
