Since the last week we reviewed on December 16, 2024, we’d like to highlight some of the releases from last week as well as towards the end of the year.
Availability of Llama 3.3 70B on Amazon SageMaker JumpStart and Amazon Bedrock – Llama 3.3 70B on Meta represents a significant advancement in model efficiency and performance optimization. Llama 3.3 70B is a text-only command coordination model that provides improved performance over Llama 3.1 70B and Llama 3.2 90B when used in text-only applications. You can now use this model in both Amazon SageMaker JumpStart and Amazon Bedrock.
Availability of Stable Diffusion 3.5 Large on Amazon Bedrock – Stable Diffusion 3.5 Large by Stability AI is the most powerful model in the Stable Diffusion family with 8.1 billion parameters trained on Amazon SageMaker HyperPod. You can now generate high-quality images from text descriptions using Stable Diffusion 3.5 Large on Amazon Bedrock.
New Amazon Kinesis Source Connector for Apache Flink – The Apache Flink community has released version 5.0.0 of the AWS Service Connector, an AWS open source contribution. This release introduces Kinesis Streams Source, a new connector for reading data from Amazon Kinesis Data Streams, replacing the previous Kinesis Consumer.
Amazon WorkSpaces Personal now supports AWS Global Accelerator – Amazon WorkSpaces Personal now integrates with AWS Global Accelerator (AGA) to improve WorkSpaces connection performance by optimizing streaming traffic across the AWS global network and edge locations. This feature is especially useful for customers whose end users connect to their WorkSpaces over long distances. You can enable the AGA feature at the WorkSpaces directory level or for individual WorkSpaces running the Amazon DCV protocol.
New Resource Insights in AWS Resource Explorer – The improved Resource Explorer experience centralizes relevant data and insights from multiple AWS services for supported resource types. New features allow you to work with resources directly from the Resource Explorer console, including managing tags, adding resources to your application, and using Amazon Q to get more information about your resources.
General Availability of Custom Billing Views in AWS Billing and Cost Management – ​​Custom billing views allow you to use a single view in AWS Cost Explorer to provide application and business unit owners with the ability to access data from multiple AWS accounts without giving them access to AWS Management. We can provide access to cost management data. account. You can create filtered views of your cost management data based on cost allocation tags or specific AWS accounts.
