Manchester United legend Jaap Stam has criticized Marcus Rashford’s recent comments. He believes the winger is taking the easy way out, leaving the club amid criticism.
Rashford has received a lot of criticism from fans and experts due to his poor performance at the beginning of last season. He has also been strongly linked with a move since last summer. He recently suggested he was ready for a new challenge away from his boyhood club.
In a recent interview, Jaap Stam shared his thoughts on Rashford’s situation at Manchester United. target):
“I think the easy way is to say you want to leave. It was a difficult time, he got a lot of criticism for his performance, but we didn’t see enough fight on the pitch.”
“I think if he does that it will change the mood around him and give him more credit. “It might be good for him and the club for him to move, but I wanted to see him give everything for the club.”
Rashford, 27, has scored 138 goals and provided 63 assists in 426 appearances for Manchester United since graduating from the academy.

“If I know the situation is already bad, I won’t make it worse. I’ve seen how other players have left in the past and I don’t want to be that person. When I leave, I’ll make a statement. A statement will come from me.”
Rashford has scored seven goals and assisted three in 24 games across the competition. However, new coach Ruben Amorim has decided not to include the England international in his matchday squad for the last three games.
He last played in United’s 2–1 win over Viktoria Plzeň in the UEFA Europa League on 12 December, but failed to register a goal contribution.
