TORONTO – Right-hander Jeff Hoffman, who was selected ninth overall by the Blue Jays in the 2014 First-Year Player Draft and traded to the Colorado Rockies the following summer, is back in Toronto.
The Blue Jays agreed to terms with the 32-year-old Hoffman on Friday to a three-year, $33 million contract.
Hoffman pitched in 68 games for the Phillies in 2024, posting a 2.17 ERA and earning his first career All-Star selection after striking out 89 and walking 16 in 66 1/3 innings.

The 6-foot-5, 235-pound native of Latham, New York, has appeared in 256 MLB games (50 starts) between the Rockies, Cincinnati Reds and Philadelphia Phillies, going 23-26 with a 4.82 ERA.

“We are excited to add Jeff to our bullpen. His arsenal, throwing strikes and ability to miss bats against all types of batters is elite and will undoubtedly make us better,” said Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins.
“Jeff will get the opportunity to finish games for us this season. “His track record, competitiveness and experience make him a great addition to this group.”
